Bringing home a pet is one of the best investments that a man can ever make. Pets are invaluable possessions. An anonymous quote goes like this "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened"

Having loved thus, a lost pet can put a pet owner under tremendous emotional strain. The loss of a pet is one of the worst feelings in the world. Sometimes a pet loss can cause more grief to the owner than its death. The guilt attached to the loss makes it so.

Pets can get lost in accidents, natural disasters or when taken along on outings. Some pets may get lost due to the owner being very irresponsible. Pets are a bundle of joy only if cared for properly.

Finding your lost pet may seem to depend on luck, but there are things that you can do that will make a difference. As a first step, search your house thoroughly by looking in every nook and cranny. Find out from your neighbors if they have seen your pet. You can distribute fliers with the name and photograph of your pet. Also report the loss to the nearest pet care center or vet by giving a photo and description of your pet and visit pet adoption centers to see if they a found a lost animal. You must also do a very depressing task of finding out if your pet has been killed in a road accident, otherwise you may never know what has happened to your pet.

As a rule of thumb, always safeguard your pet before it is lost. Beef up the security in your house by adding pet proof fences. Keep the gates locked and never allow your pet to roam about freely in the neighborhood. If you pet is a dog or a cat, have a collar with a tag as an identification. You can also consult a vet about microchip implants for your pet that can help with identification and helping to find a lost pet.

Treat your pet responsibly with love and affection; this often is a stronger protection than any other method.

Pets are no longer considered working animals they are more members of the family, you will probably find you spend the same if not more time with your pet than anyone else and losing a pet can be devastating.

Everyday there are reports of lost pets, some are stolen others simply escape from home and can not find their ways back. It is important to secure your home so this does not happen to you and your pet.

Finding lost pets can depend on luck but there are additional methods you can take to try and track down lost pets.

Make sure you have checked every possible place in your home and garden to rule out if your pet has simply curled up somewhere.

Talk to neighbours and friends and see if they have seen your pet or heard if anyone has found any lost pets

Hand out leaflet or flyers, try to have as much detail as possible including a recent photo of your lost pet so people can see exactly what it looks like

Report lost pets to your local vets providing them also with a photo and description.

Contact your local animal shelters and ask if any lost pets have been handed in around the time your pet went missing.

Keep checking the same places over and over again as your pet could return to a place you may have already looked.

Ask local kids if they have seen your pet, if you offer any sort of reward never say how much until your pet has been found safe and sound.

There are many ways in which you can prevent your pet becoming lost most are obvious yet we forget to do them, these include

Make your home and garden more secure by putting up pet proof fences

Make sure all your gates are locked at al times

Never let your pet roam around the neighbourhood alone

Provide your pet with a collar and a tag which clearly states the pets name address and a contact phone number.

Consider having a micro chip implant, this would have to be done by your local vet and is a pain free way of tracking your pet and has helped find may lost pets.

Although losing a pet can be distressing there are so many ways to prevent this from happening and ways to find them should they still become lost, not all make it home but a huge majority do. The most important thing is to try and prevent this from happening in the first place as this will keep your pets safe and save you a lot of heartache.

Ever since the beginning of time there has always been the pet and the family, today’s pets have become an integral part of the family, and even considered by some to be a part of the family. With this relationship being so vital, protection of the family pet is a major concern of many pet owners.

Each year millions of pets are reported lost or found, but a large majority of these members of the family are never reunited with their owners. The main reason for this is lack of identification is because most pets do not have a pet collar or identification tag to contact the owner if they are found, and the ones that do contain obsolete or outdated contact information. There are many ways to tag a pet, but the pet collar is, and has always been the most recognize method of identifying the pet, and its owner for those who find a lost pet.

The remedy for this dilemma seems simple, just buy them a new pet tag every time you move or change contact information. The problem with this solution is that buying them a new tag with every change can become a bit expensive in an upwardly mobile society. The best alternative is to register with a service that provides a unique tracking number for your pet, and provides free lifetime updating of your contact information.

One company that provides this service is RecoveryPets.Com, and their website is located at http://www.recoverypets.com. The services they offer includes pet registration with a unique identification number, and the register will receive a pet identification tag and pocket card with this identification number on both items. The service is internet based and is accessible from any computer in the world that has internet connection, and they provide unlimited lifetime of contact information, along with a webpage that contains a description of the pet, photograph, and up to ten contact numbers or emails.

Ensuring that our pets are safe is a major concern for many pet owners, and providing a way to recover a lost pet is just as important. With the advent of the internet, recovering pets has become increasingly easier, but it still takes an undertaking on the part of the owner to make sure that their four legged family member is protected.

According to recent statistics, an astounding 65% of all U.S. household have at least one pet, and in many of these homes, their pets are considered part of the family. With so many homes containing pets, it is no wonder that so many laws have been created to protect our pets. Agencies that might not have existed just a decade ago, like the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (S.P.C.A), are now the dominating force in the war against animal cruelty.

But, a lot of responsibility still lies with the pet owners when it comes to ensuring that their pets are safe and secure. Making sure a pet is safe and secure also includes taking the steps needed for their safe return if they are ever become lost. Each year more than a million pets are reported lost to shelter agencies around the nation, and a large majority of these pets are never returned because of lack of any identification, or up-to-date contact information for the owners.

Providing a method for lost pets to be identified and returned to their owners helps relieve rescue agencies and shelters of this task, and allows them to focus on returning the lost pet. The solution to this problem is provided by a company called RecoveryPets.Com, they have established a service that provides the pet owner with the ability to register their pet in a global pet identification data-base. Once registered with the service, the pets description, photograph, and the owners contact information is available for the recovery of lost pets.

Services like the one provided by RecoveryPets.Com and national shelter agencies are working towards making sure that pets are safe and secure with their owners. Because the loss of a family pet can be a traumatic experience, so if there are ways to reduce the stresses associated with losing a pet, then its their mission to make sure that these services are in place. Pet recovery is greatly improved if the finders of lost pets have a visible identification system, and the pet id tag is the most recognizable items that a pet owner can put on their pet.

Even with all the advances in the pet protection industry, pet owners still fail to take the initiative to ensure that their pets are safe. But, with companies like RecoveryPets.Com and the work being done by shelter agencies, they are making the job of making sure their pets are protected a little bit easier, if their services are utilized. To find more information about the services they offer, visit your local shelters website, or RecoveryPets.Com’s website at http://www.recoverypets.com.

In an emergency or disaster a Pet Survival Kit should be available for your pets survival. Most people do not think about the health and safety of their pets before an emergency. A pet left to fend for itself in a disaster usually do not survive, mainly because preparations were not made in advance. If you have a home Survival Kit for you and your family and do not have a Pet Survival Kit do not forget to add one. Your pet will love you for it.

If you are like myself and leave your pet or pets indoors during the day with a doggie door to the backyard, always have at least a whole days worth of food and water available as you might not be able to return home during or after an emergency. Keep at least a weeks supply of stored food and water on hand. If you have small and medium-sized pets you should consider a pet carrier if you do not have one, in case you have to transport them to a safe and secure location. A Pet Survival kit or Pet First Aid Kit will greatly increase your pets survival.

Make sure that your friends and neighbors know that you have pets at home. Keep phone numbers of your friends and neighbors on your person so that you can call and make arrangements to care for your pet or pets. If you have a local animal shelter, have their number available if you should have the need to use their services. The whole idea is to be prepared so that you will have the love and comfort of your pet or pets after an emergency.

Losing a family pet can be a traumatic experience, especially on children who are close to the lost pet. But, one in three pet owners fail to take the steps needed to ensure that this tragedy does not occur in their home. These steps can be as simple as providing a pet identification tag with up-to-date contact information in the event the family pet ever gets lost, so that the finder of the pet will have a resource to contact the pet owner.

Because a majority of pet owners fail to take this step, their family pet usually ends up in a shelter, or just released to wander around. One of the biggest concerns for pet owners on the upwardly mobile move is the cost associated with constantly purchasing a pet identification tag every time their contact information changes. To alleviate this situation , a company called RecoveryPets.Com provides a pet tag with a unique tracking number that links to their website, where the owners contact information can be updated for the life of the pet.

This company provides an easy access search for lost pets, and all the finder has to do is enter the unique tracking number and the owners contact information will instantly be displayed. One of the best benefits of this service is that it provides a one-stop convenient source for those who find a pet, and those that have a lost their pet. This is accomplished by the Global Pet Listing Service, that provides a photo and description of lost pets with contact information that can be broadcast across the internet. This service is accessible by all agencies that regularly deal with lost pets, and it provides them with a way to identify the owners if they have not registered with the Pet Tracking Service.

Tracking systems for animals is nothing new, but the majority of these systems require invasive devices implanted into the animal, and a lot of pet owners opt not to have this procedure done because of the risk involved, not to mention the cost of such a procedure. Another type of tracking is pet tattooing, but if the pet is lost, trying to find a tattoo that they do not know exist defeats the purpose. The pet identification tag can be worn on the collar of most domestic pets, and it is readily identified by the majority of people who find lost pets, and it does not require any type of invasive procedures to be performed on the pet.

Finding an affordable way to recover lost pets is the wish of every pet owner if their pet should ever become lost, but an ounce of prevention as the saying goes can save the owner from the traumatic experiences that are associated with losing the family pet. With today’s fast pace movements and population explosion , we do not have a chance to get to know our neighbors the way we used to, so having a means of identifying a lost pet that is affordable and recognizable can reduce the stresses associated with owning a pet who is a member of the family.

The greatest fear of most pet owners is that there is a chance the family pet will get lost, and not be returned. But many of these same pet owners fail to take the necessary precautions needed to safeguard their pets. By simply overlooking the importance of the pet identification tag, and how having up-to-date accurate information can greatly increase the chances of a successful pet recovery.

And, with the advent of the internet, and its ability to link nations together, and not to mention its popularity, with millions of registered users online daily. Combining these two resources can greatly increase the chance that a pet will be recovered, if these resources are used correctly.

Combining the internet and the pet identification tag provides many benefits to the pet owner when it comes to ensuring the safety of the family pet. The best use of these resources is provided by a company named RecoveryPets. Com whose website is located at http://www.recoverypets.com, and this is accomplished by using a unique tracking number for each registered pet and that number is inscribed on the pet identification tag. This system allows the pets description and photograph to be placed on the companies website along with the owners contact information.

Each year millions of family pets are lost, and end up at shelters that have no idea who these pets belong to, or how to contact the owners to return the pets. But, something as simple as a pet tag that you only have to register for once, because the contact information can be updated free for the life of the pet, can almost erase this problem and reunite many pets with their families. Additionally, because this is a web based service, anyone with a computer around the world can access the pets information, and return the lost pet to its owners.
